“This is the only office in the land where you can get more votes and still lose the presidency,” Boxer said in a statement. “The Electoral College is an outdated, undemocratic system that does not reflect our modern society, and it needs to change immediately. Every American should be guaranteed that their vote counts.”
Trump romped over Hillary Clinton in the battle for Electoral College votes, and stands to get 290 to her 232 when the electors vote next month. But the former secretary of state won the day in the popular vote, where she is leading by roughly 800,000 votes according to Associated Press figures.
There’s no reason to think that Republicans who control Congress will take up, much less adopt, Boxer’s proposal, which would amend the Constitution in order to scrap the Electoral College. To be ratified, the amendment would need support from two-thirds of both houses, followed by approval by 38 of the 50 states.
Trump had called the Electoral College “a disaster for democracy” in response to President Obama’s 2012 reelection, at a time when Trump believed Obama would lose the popular vote. In a “60 Minutes” interview that aired Sunday, Trump said his opinion hadn’t changed, despite the results of the current election.
“I would rather see it where you went with simple votes. You know, you get 100 million votes, and somebody else gets 90 million votes, and you win,” he told CBS News’ Lesley Stahl.
But Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday to declare the Electoral College “actually genius” and to declare that he would have “won even bigger and more easily” if the presidency had been determined by the popular vote.
It’s impossible to know whether that would be true, but Trump’s core argument — that you campaign on the basis of the rules that decide the winner — is basically correct.

The International Crime Syndicate (ICS) is about to make its move on Trump. I see a repeat of history in the making. These unfolding events, meetings with the "wheeler dealers" of special interest, holding meetings after the election are all to familiar to me. It reminds me of the political atmosphere of the "Texas Clan, special interest lobbyist, and organized crime" and their secret 'close door' meetings after JFK was elected. I sure hope Trump can watch his six and stop any infiltration of "evil doers" as they say, into his ranks.
Recap: taken from FOX news:
"... Billionaire George Soros and other big Democratic donors are meeting for three days in Washington, D.C. to discuss how to stop President-elect Donald Trump's agenda.
The reported closed-door meetings kicked off Sunday night at the upscale Mandarin Oriental hotel.
Politico reports that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Keith Ellison - who is in the running to be the next DNC chair - are among the key Democrats expected to attend.

The conference is sponsored by the Democracy Alliance donor club.
The meeting is the first major gathering of the institutional left since Trump’s shocking victory over Hillary Clinton in last week’s presidential election, and, if the agenda is any indication, liberals plan full-on trench warfare against Trump from Day One. Some sessions deal with gearing up for 2017 and 2018 elections, while others focus on thwarting President-elect Trump’s 100-day plan, which the agenda calls “a terrifying assault on President Obama’s achievements — and our progressive vision for an equitable and just nation.”

Yet the meeting also comes as many liberals are reassessing their approach to politics — and the role of the Democracy Alliance, or DA, as the club is known in Democratic finance circles. The DA, its donors and beneficiary groups over the last decade have had a major hand in shaping the institutions of the left, including by orienting some of its key organizations around Clinton, and by basing their strategy around the idea that minorities and women constituted a so-called “rising American electorate” that could tip elections to Democrats...."
